Grammy’s Best Waffles

These are all-time favorite waffles passed down from generation to generation. We make them on vacation and for holidays.

  • 2 eggs separated

  • 2 cups of milk

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 2 cups of flour

  • 4 teaspoons of baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon fo salt

  • 6 Tablespoons melted butter

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Beat egg yolks and sugar until well blended. Add milk. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Add vanilla and cooled melted butter. Fold in egg whites that have been beaten into soft peaks. Bake in waffle iron. Top with warm syrup, powdered sugar, fresh peaches, strawberries or your favorite fruit.

We highly recommend doubling this recipe! Store leftovers in an airtight container and eat as a snack.
